No Knead Dinner Rolls - Overnight Lazy Recipe
Ingredients
- 250 ml Warm milk(1 cup)
- 30 g Sugar(2 tbsp, food for the yeast)
- 6 g Fresh yeast(2 tsp, or 3g dry yeast (1 tsp))
- 1 Egg
- 400 g Bread flour(3 ¼ cups)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 30 g Vegetable oil(2 tbsp)
- Milk for brushing
- Butter for finishing(small piece)
Step-by-Step Instructions
- 1Mix the dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk (250ml) with sugar (30g). Crumble in fresh yeast (6g) or dry yeast (3g) and mix. Break one egg and give it a quick mix. Add bread flour (400g) and salt (1 tsp). Mix with a wooden spoon until there's no more dry flour.
- 2Add oil: Add vegetable oil (30g). Mix just until the oil is incorporated. It's easier to mix with your hand, but you can also use a wooden spoon. The dough is soft and sticky - don't worry, this is normal!
- 3Overnight rest: Cover and leave in the fridge overnight. The next day, take it out of the fridge 30 minutes before using. It has risen beautifully!
- 4Shape the dough: Grease the work surface and sprinkle with some flour. Fold the dough. Flatten the dough with your hands and fold it a couple more times. Now it is ready to be cut. Cut into 12 equal pieces.
- 5Shape rolls: Flatten each piece and fold it into a ball. Rub the piece between your hands to seal it. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.Timer Available:Ball Rest (10:00)
- 6Roll them up: Grease your work surface. Flatten each piece into a rectangle. Now roll it - hence the name 'dinner rolls'! Cute! Move the rolls into a tray lined with baking paper.
- 7Final rise: Cover with a towel and let rise for 30 minutes. Brush each roll with milk - it will give them a beautiful golden color.Timer Available:Final Rise (30:00)
- 8Bake: Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden. The smell is amazing!350°F (180°C)Timer Available:Baking Time (23:00)
